Cosmopolitan is like the women’s Bible. It helps women learn about themselves, life, work, stress management, men and love. My friends and I have been fairly devoted readers of Cosmo for years, and I have even seen a few men open it up and say, “Wow, really?” in my short lifetime. It seems Cosmo is not just for women, then. While some are merely entertained by the magazine’s advice, theories, tips and instructions, some live and breathe its supposed truths. Each issue entertains me enough to discuss it with my boyfriend Chris, sister, aunt and friends. We have had so many intriguing discussions and laughs about silly habits, disturbing confessions and discoveries. Sometimes we even say, “Hey, let’s try that!”
Enough talk, it is time for show and tell.
Now what I want to do is test out Cosmo’s take on self-empowerment, beauty, relationship and health matters and share the good, bad, ugly and even scandalous explorations of what Cosmo has to say. I would love for this blog to be a comfortable forum for all voices to be spoken, heard and appreciated. My hope is that you will share stories and ideas for you are as much a part of this experience as I am. Here’s to brain ticklers, eye openers and happily ever afters (if they do exist).
This sounds like a great blog idea. I've had the same experience with my male housemates-they take a much bigger interest than I ever would have imagined them doing so. All of the girl housemates and myself were surprised and found their interest pretty entertaining. That being the case, it will be interesting to see how you develop your blog to be of interest to both females and males.
ReplyDeleteMaybe guys are more interested in getting to know girls than girls are interested in getting to know themselves! Or perhaps they are sneaky creatures.
ReplyDeleteWas there a particular topic or subject matter that interested them more than others?
